To serve a rapidly expanding ex-urb west of San Antonio, TX, Alsatian Care Enterprises is not only executing a massive upgrade to their existing facility, but also a major investment in the community they call home. The 22,000sf multistory and multi-building project brings a mixed-use approach to healthcare, incorporating an urgent care alongside a freestanding emergency center on the ground floor, with medical office space above for local,
sole-practitioner physicians. Outparcel buildings will provide shell retail space for other area business such as a local coffee shop, and a pharmacy to facilitate the rapid availability of prescriptions for clinic patients. By weaving
a modernist language with the local vernacular vocabulary, the building is at once familiar and forward thinking, reflecting the client’s approach to healthcare.
